Courtney Shytle has a wide range of product liability litigation experience in federal and state courts at both the trial and appellate level. Clients retain Courtney for her experience in managing all aspects of a case including complex files, fact investigation, discovery, mediations, motions work and preparing, defending and deposing expert witnesses in a variety of litigation.
Her practice focuses mainly on the defense of automotive products, including automobiles, motorcycles and forklifts. Of her notable experience, she represented well-known automotive manufacturers in cases involving crashworthiness and post collision fuel fed fire.
Additionally, Courtney has represented multiple product manufacturers in premises liability, toxic torts and personal injury cases and has extensive experience defending consumer product manufacturers. Courtney also manages class action litigation involving multiple matters and law firms. She develops appropriate and effective narratives for her client while managing discovery, conducting internal investigations in response to regulatory inquiries and preparing corporate witnesses and experts. Courtney's goal is always to achieve optimal results on behalf of her client, whether through settlements or through trials.
Courtney's appellate background extends as far back as her law clerkship with the Honorable Karen J. Williams, Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit. She also worked as a staff attorney for the South Carolina Court of Appeals.
