Kirk Carter defends manufacturers of medical devices and pharmaceuticals in product liability litigation. He has assisted in defending the safety and efficacy of multiple life sciences products, including bone-grafting materials, total knee replacement polyethylene liners, wearable defibrillators and patent-specific joint implants.
Kirk applies his strong writing background in drafting and arguing dispositive motions. He has experience with all elements of discovery and litigation strategy, including conducting and defending depositions of fact witnesses and expert witnesses. Kirk’s previous career as a sports radio talk show host helped polish his ability to advocate for clients orally and to engage and reach any audience.
Before joining Bowman and Brooke, Kirk defended clients in civil litigation involving high-exposure liability matters, including premises, medical negligence and professional liability. Kirk has first-chaired several bench trials and served as co-counsel on three jury trials. He has also handled litigation in federal court and appeals before Florida and Georgia appellate courts.
Outside the office, Kirk enjoys making pasta from scratch, smoking brisket and pork, and traveling in search of new cuisines. He also enjoys music – playing guitar, attending live concerts and collecting records – and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.
