Larry Ramsey is a trial attorney with over 40 years of experience defending corporations in complex civil litigation, including product liability claims, construction disputes, commercial matters, environmental claims and toxic torts. He has served as lead counsel in over 25 trials across California and has presented numerous briefs and arguments to appellate courts.
He has represented developers of large residential neighborhoods in Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego Counties in cases involving hundreds of plaintiff-homeowners, as well as commercial new-construction claims. These matters often involve allegations related to design, manufacture and installation. He also handles complex environmental and toxic tort claims, including defending a Fortune 500 company in a six-month trial over $200 million in groundwater clean-up costs, which continued on appeal. Additionally, he has defended against personal injury claims involving asbestos, benzene and chlorinated solvents.
Larry has represented electrical product manufacturers in disputes over commercial and residential electrical distribution products, as well as defending claims involving elevators, escalators and machinery used in agriculture, oil fields and food processing. He has also taken clients through trial in commercial disputes and served as lead trial counsel for a major chemical manufacturer in a breach of agency agreement case, as well as handling breach of trust claims, coverage disputes and wrongful termination matters.
Active in the legal community, Larry is Past-President and long-time Board Member of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel and served on several bench-bar committees with judges to address issues involving the courts. He also served for ten years on the Board of California Defense Counsel to promote the perspective of corporations and their counsel in California through interaction with the legislature and judiciary.
