Jodi Munn Schebel focuses her practice on product liability, premises liability and personal injury defense litigation, as well as counseling clients on regulatory compliance matters. She has significant experience managing all facets of high exposure litigation from case inception through trial, including pre-litigation claim assessment, development and execution of case strategy, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, expert witness retention and preparation, settlement negotiations and overall case management.
Jodi handles complex and multi-defect cases involving consumer products, insurance coverage, automobile accidents, premises claims, as well as commercial litigation. She has tried automotive product liability and premises liability actions and has arbitrated cases under the American Arbitration Association standards. With respect to regulatory matters, Jodi counsels her clients on compliance with regulations under the Motor Vehicle Safety Act, to determine whether and what reporting is required, and to ensure that strict timelines under the Act are met.
Jodi also regularly manages discovery coordination and eDiscovery in commercial and business cases, including complex litigation and class action matters. In her discovery practice, Jodi develops and implements protocols for handling all aspects of case discovery including case strategy, case management conferences, claw back agreements, deposition protocols, ESI agreements, protective orders, privilege logs and document collection and review. She is responsible for all areas of the discovery process, including drafting case management orders, initial disclosures, discovery requests and responses, and overseeing the entirety of the document collection and review process. She currently serves as National Discovery Counsel for a major automotive manufacturer on class action and other product liability matters in both state and federal courts throughout the United States. In 2019, Jodi testified before the U.S. House Judiciary Sub-Committee on Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet on sealing the record and preserving litigants’ rights to protect their privacy interests.
