Sam Schleier advises product manufacturers in complex litigation from case inception through trial and settlement, defending against personal injury, property damage, consumer warranty and other commercial claims. He has represented clients in both state and federal courts throughout California and beyond, defending products including automobile engines and seat backs, electric motors, elevator electronic control systems, electrical inverters and powered gates for residential security.
Sam has written and argued discovery and dispositive motions, briefed a range of complex legal issues, participated in jury selection, prepared and cross-examined fact and expert witnesses, and served as second-chair trial counsel.
He has extensive experience working with technical experts, including accident reconstructionists, biomechanical engineers, vehicle electronics and braking engineers, seat back engineers, mechanical and electrical engineers, elevator engineers, motor design specialists, neurologists and neuroradiologists, psychologists, psychiatrists, neuropsychiatrists and orthopedic experts.
Sam has also advised clients regarding compliance with local, state and federal statutory and regulatory schemes during various phases of product development and sales.
In his free time, Sam enjoys Premier League soccer, hiking, running and spending time with his wife and daughter. In 2020, he summited Mount Whitney, the highest mountain in the contiguous 48 states, and he has run several half marathons and at least one mile every day since June 2020 (including the day he summitted Mount Whitney and the day his daughter was born).
