Marisa Trasatti is a trial attorney with over 25 years of experience. She focuses her practice on defending high-profile clients against matters involving life sciences, product liability, toxic tort, premises liability and commercial claims. She also serves as General Counsel to the largest California-based founder-owned medical laser and light manufacturer in the world.
With extensive experience as lead counsel, both locally and nationally, Marisa has represented U.S. and international manufacturers of chemicals, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and hoteliers in the hospitality industry. Her passion lies in achieving the best results for her clients, tailoring strategies to their specific needs while fostering positive attorney-client relationships.
In addition to her legal practice, she has authored several notable articles and presented on a wide range of legal topics, including alleged human trafficking in the hospitality industry, social inflation, crisis management, privacy/cybersecurity, preemption and learned intermediary defenses. Marisa is the recipient of the coveted Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC) Connect Award for her business referrals, John Appleman Award for her committee leadership of the FDCC Drug, Device and Biotechnology Committee and is a two-time winner of the Andrew C. Hecker article award. Sciton also awarded her with the company's "Founder's Award" in July 2024, the highlight of all her client recognitions.
Marisa is active in numerous prominent local and national bar associations. She holds a Governor-appointed position as a Commissioner on the Maryland Judicial Disabilities Commission and was recently elected as a Representative to the ABA House of Delegates.
Outside of her legal practice, Marisa leads an active lifestyle with her friends and family, and enjoys all outdoor activities including golf, swimming, and running. She is also a Persian cat lover and car enthusiast, with a particular passion for collecting Porsches with her Dad.
