Dallas, TX (July 17, 2013) – Bowman and Brooke LLP, a nationally recognized trial law firm focused on defending high-stakes product liability and mass tort litigation, is pleased to announce that its Dallas office has received a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification.
Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED is a multifaceted rating system based on a concise framework for identifying and implementing measurable advances in green building design, construction, operations, and maintenance.
“Bowman and Brooke is honored to have been granted LEED certification,” said Managing Partner Kurt C. Kern. “It’s gratifying to know that we have succeeded in making good on our longstanding commitment to sustainability.”
Certification is based on a system by which each element of a building project is awarded a designated number of points for meeting specific criteria. For LEED Silver certification, a project must earn a total of 50 to 59 points in such categories as efficient use of resources (water, energy, etc.), appropriate disposal of demolished materials (recycle, reuse, reduce), and indoor environment (air quality, lighting, comfort, etc.)
Bowman and Brooke’s Dallas office is the firm’s third office to receive LEED certification. It’s Minneapolis office has also received a Silver certification, and its Columbia, SC, office has received a Gold certification.
