After a three-week trial, a Texas jury voted 11-1 on March 10, 2011 to free Toyota Motor Corp. in an $11.5 million personal injury suit over an allegedly defective seat design. The verdict, handed down in Dallas County District Court, said there was no design defect in the Toyota Corolla owned by one of the plaintiffs that produced the injuries at issue. Toyota was represented at trial by Partners Kurt C. Kern and J. Karl Viehman.
