Jonathan Smith is a litigator whose practice centers on the defense of manufacturers in product liability litigation, general liability claims and commercial disputes for the automotive and life sciences industries. Although Jon strives to develop solutions to avoid litigation, when the courtroom is unavoidable, he couples his knowledge of the relevant legislative and regulatory schemes with his litigation experience to efficiently resolve differences in his client’s favor.
Jon is experienced in all phases of litigation and has successfully represented clients in state and federal court and before various administrative agencies. He has represented vehicle manufacturers in vehicle accidents, consumer warranty, dealership and franchise issues and other matters. He has represented pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers against individual claims and in mass-tort. Jon also has substantial experience in the recovery of commercial debts and the enforcement of money judgments in Texas.
Prior to pursuing a career in law, Jon was public school teacher and worked extensively with at-risk and special needs students. Today, he continues to advocate for children with disabilities through his involvement with the Special Olympics of Texas and by offering pro bono legal services to indigent parents of special needs students.
